Minions & Spiteful Spirit
Why does SS effect minions on your side in pvp? I searched and searched and found nothing. I looked on guru, checked their stuff on minions, googled it, ask dot commed it, the whole nine yards. And even people I asked in the game coudn't explain why this happens.
Why does ss cause damage to minions our team mm raised?
On a side note when you try and use + to search for two or more words together on guru it actuallly searches for the + symbol lol.

It could be either an over look by Anet or something placed to prevent such a great possibility. SS+minions+a tight group of enemies could mean a pretty good spike anywhere in PvE
I for one didn't even know that this happened.

SS says "all adjacent allies." Minions are classified as allies, I thought.

Yes they are allies but shouldn't SS not be affecting your allies it should be affecting your foes.

have I stumbled upon the unanswerable question?
There has to be a reason why this happens. My guess is what DT said, that the combo of ss and minions on a team is too powerful to allow to happen. Thus the reason why ss effects your minions in pvp.
Just a guess. But this is all I have to go on as nobody seems to know the actual reason.

In PvE, SS does not affact minion allies. It affects all foes adjacent to the target foe.
I don't play PvP, so I can't say if it is bugged or not. Are you sure opposing Necro didn't cast SS on one of your allies?

that is correct, it doesn't happen in pve only in pvp. And no, the ss is not coming from the opposition but from a teammate. We observed it happening again last night as well.
One person was mm, another was ss necro.

I don't see how SS and Minions make a powerful combo.
SS deals damage to the hexed enemy and the hexed enemies friends, right? How can Minions make that stronger, in any way?
I can understand how the old combo of Minions and Mark of Pain was overpowered, but SS gains nother from Minions, except it's great at killing enemy minions. Is that what you mean by overpowered? It's great for killing the enemy's minions? In that case, damaging your own minions won't make ANY difference.
Help me out here please, I'm confused.

You are confused yes hehe.
In pvp a mm cannot be an mm if there is also an ss on the team, and vice versa. Because ss also hurts the team's minions, they just can't be together in a team build. The mm is now very ineffective.
It has nothing to do with the opposing player's minions and the ss is not being used on them but rather on the people.

I'm guessing its a bug then. A bug that has not yet been fixed.
But it does bring out a nice way to bring a MM bomber instead. SS+MM Bomber = damage that spreads.

I got that part, I'm still confused.
Say the bug didn't exist; would SS together with MM make an overpowered combo, and if so, how?
